Leading in from a crappy week this weekend was pretty darn great! I was planning on dying my lab coat this weekend but I just ran out of time and steam to do it.. This last week has been a supervisory trial for me. Having to deal with the main aspects of the project that I'm working on in the lab and having to make sure things are getting done on time. not only to make sure that things are getting done on time but to make sure things are being done right and consistently. which would be easier if people would just say that they don't know how to do something instead of pretending that they do and causing more work to be done than actually needed to be.. but this is all part of working on a masters project and working with people from different cultural/working backgrounds. Seeing how last week went, this week will hopefully be more calm for me and if not, I will just have to find an outlet like going walking everywhere or something. an outlet that isn't coursework rather... I'm done with my photo album project so I will have to come up with something else or find a distraction somehow. but eitherway.. I love being back in the lab.. my lab coat is absolutely FILTHY and I like it that way :) :) though next weekend that thing will get dyed.. and washed properly!

Saturday was a great day :) I got up early and went to the hairdressers. I got my hair cut and styled and I love it!! having straight hair is super weird for me but I liked it so much I went out and got a hair straightener that has multi voltage on it so I can take it to any country! :) YAY!! and they're of super good quality so this is a good deal :) now I just have to figure out how long it will take me to straighten my hair.. bummerrrrr.. but I walked down there and walked back so that was a good walk for me and I even picked up some stuff from tesco's. YAY! but then Rachel and I went on a walk later on.. it was really nice to go and see parts of aberdeen I haven't seen yet. We walked through the cemetary at St. Macher Cathedral and looked at all the old stuff.. and then we went for a walk through seaton park.. found a little cache of snails :) that of course made me all giddy.. a lot of the park was flooded though.. what a pitty but it was quite funny to see benches out in the middle of huge lake like puddles :) We also walked down to the beach.. this is the first time since I've been here that I've properly been on the beach! It was beautiful! watched the surf for a little bit and of course came home with pockets full of rocks. some really awesome ones.. of course I picked up some granite but I also picked up some rocks that have been shaped by the ocean and are obviously sedimentary high pressured pieces of awesome! my windowsill is running out of room for all of my rocks.. And I have rocks on my shelf too.. I need to stop picking up cool things lol

Last night I went to dinner with most of my pals from uni.. We had a blast and had AMAZING TURKISH FOOD at Nargiles (77-79 Skene St. Aberdeen) I had the lamb.. omg.. that was the best lamb I've ever had!! I want to go back!! and then we hit the town.. I did A LOT of walking around yesterday but I quite enjoyed it.. plus I had 3 bodyguards on the way home :) always makes my night when I have such good company! Oh and Jennifer and I have the same hair! same salon but different days.. and its not quite the same hair but its hilarious because neither of us knew that the other was going to do it! and although mine doesn't look short.. its been straightened but I've had 7 or so inches cut off.. so when my hair is curly again it will look shorter. :) I can't wait to show off my sexy hair tomorrow :) :) its pure legend!

I learned a new word this week.. Chuffed... it means super happy and what not.. I also learned that pool halls smell like men who haven't showered in weeks and probably live at the pool hall.. ewwww. anwyay I have to go and finish my domestic duties and then get back to reading papers for my project and for classes. I will most def have to get a salon date before I go home to the states for break.. I need super sexy hair for that lol.. not like I'm going to be seeing anyone of the male persuasion but there's just something that new haircut does for you.. makes you more confident and just different.. I LOVE IT!!! :) WOOT!
