Right off the bat I am going to tell you something I learned today.. Scottish road maps are SCARY! they don't make sense!! Instead of having roads named.. they're colour coded! WTF!? AND for some odd reason there was a strange play in events as we left the school in our loaned vehicle that had a griffen on it.

1. Traffic just through aberdeen (mostly union) was completely bumper to bumper and stupid.. we were going like 1/8 mph I swear!
2. we turned off and got to faster traffic to get out of town
3. Scotland did not want us to go to Banchory today.. every attempt was shot down
4. map was stupid
5. ended up down somewhere near stonehaven and took a side exit off towards Toukes
6. followed the yellow road on the map for a while
7. turned around twice
8. got lost on the map
9. by the way.. map was stupid
10. ended up at the coolest place ever!! Drumtrochty! Which had an AMAZING church and an even grander Castle! SUPER COOL!!! I didn't get a picture of the Castle but I got a picture of the church and with the snowy backdrop it looks even more amazing.
11. ended up with peat from Cairn O'Mount which had funny snow that funnily some how ended up getting thrown at me.. ahem ahem..

I think the best part of the trip today was taking the scenic route for everything.. I love just driving through country side.. yo unever know what you're going to see. OH! and it was fun trying to navigate and inavigable map! and pronouncing all the towns.. I sounded like such a tourist.. oh wait.. I am one! HA! Anyway thanks to all involved for a great day out! tomorrow we start sieving! Its time to make a soil lab playlist for my Ipod.. I will probably end up using the "statistics is a sure way to suicide" play list though.. its quite energetic.. or I'll just listen to John Williams music for a couple hours.. we'll see how I feel in the morning.. I need to find a good copy of the glasgow reel.. anyone have any clue?
