Day 76 - Sun 3 Jun - Hanmer Springs to Murchison
The trip today was 167km up to Murchison (the longest stretch so far) so we were probably the first away his morning. We had a clear day for travelling and it was lovely to have views of the beech forest and snow-capped mountains. There was snow alongside the highway at Lewis Pass Summit and the grit trucks had kept the road surface clear. There was very little traffic on the road so good for Bruce - he hates holding up other motorists. When we got to Murchison there was only one other rig parked but more came in for the night. We paid the most for petrol so far - $1.389/litre at Springs Junction.
