Our impromptu trip to London was at an end and it was time to head back to Heswall. We caught the tube to London Euston and then got the train to Stafford where we waited for about half an hour to catch the next train to Liverpool Lime Street station. It was a lot cheaper than our train ticket to London costing us only £17 each! Fiona picked us up from the station and drove around rainy Liverpool to look at the old grand building before parking at John Lewis. We looked around John Lewis for a little bit before walking over the Waterstones bookstore for a hot drink. Some grocery shopping at M&S and then the drive home to Heswall. At home, we settled back in to life and followed up with the paperwork for our insurance claims before a lovely dinner of homemade fish pie.
