Soongies' Great Adventure
Calvin went for a run this morning for the first time in ages. It was more of a walk and run along the Wirral Way to Gayton and back. Fiona, Barnaby, Kate and Calvin headed over to Frodsham in the morning to put some flowers on the family graves at St Laurence Church cemetery. It would have been Kate's nana's birthday tomorrow so we headed over to Helsby Tesco to pick up some roses, carnations and irises and some groceries for dinner and for a picnic during Tim's cricket game tomorrow. The bright flowers were a nice addition to the graves, especially on a cloudy day. Then we drove to Delamere Forest to stretch our legs. But before stretching out legs, we had to eat first at the Delamere Cafe. A deliciously cheesy toastie with pineapple and tomato was a tasty choice. Barnaby thoroughly enjoyed chasing the many squirrels in the forest. He looked like a puppy bounding around the trees. The path took us around Blakemere Moss where there was a raucous flock of birds screeching around on the islands. We arrived back at the cafe just in time for Kate and Calvin to get an icecream before they closed! Time to head home. All hands were on deck to help prepare a vegetarian lasagne for dinner. Good eating with a side of garlic bread!
