We drove from Gothenburg, Sweden to Odense, Denmark today. It was a fairly costly drive on the Danish side with a $70 and then a $45 toll and was an expensive introduction to the country for Tim. Fortunately we stopped off for lunch before we left Sweden! We went to Galleria Center Syd just off the highway. The sun came out this morning in preparation for our reunion with Sanne, one of the other volunteers from the Safisha school in Kenya. We drove about an hour to get to her place in Karrebaeksminde - a cute coastal town that is usually packed with tourists in summer! As Copenhagen hadn't been properly explored yet, today was the day to see the drug free side of the city. The original plan was to drive to the the nearest station and take the metro in to the city however there wasn't any day car parking nearby so the plan turned into driving and parking in Christianshavn anyway. Despite getting in late last night, Stef prepared an amazing breakfast spread for all of us - warm bread rolls, eggs, cheese, cucumber, capsicum and grapefruit juice! It was one of the best breakfasts we've had in a long time and it was great chatting with good company to start the day.
