Cacabelos to Trabadelo It's going to be a wet day climbing up onto the mountains today. The forecast is for a 100 percent chance of rain and so I am prepared for a different kind of Camino day. The mountain scenery and the lovely town of Villafranca del Bierzo reminds me a little of the wonderful Lake District back home and the heavy rain confirms my association. It's a long steady climb up on the side of the main road for most of the day, kitted out in full wet weather gear until deciding to call it a day in the mountain village of Trabadelo and a quaint 'Victorian' themed albergue. Tomorrow it's up again and over the border into Galicia. Here like everywhere for accommodation, you need to show your credencial (pilgrims passport) which signifies that you are a peregrino on the Camino. Each albergue and also many restaurants, bars and hotels will stamp your credencial as evidence of your journey. On arrival at Santiago, this is the document which entitles you to a much coveted Compostela certificate. I am over three quarters of the way there now and looking forward to the next ten days which will bring me ever closer to the finishing line.
