Despite being clean, no one slept very well and nearly everyone was up in the night at some point so in the end we didn't wake up until 9am. We sat outside and had coffee and then Nick walked into town to get the papers while I made everyone breakfast. Eventually we were ready to head into Port Fairy and it only took 15 minutes to get there. We drove through the town and found a park on the wharf, then walked up both banks of the Moyne River looking at the houses and boats. We found a sea lion sitting under a jetty having a good old scratch and he seemed quite happy to pose for photos. We walked to the mouth of the river and back along a lovely swimming beach but it was far too cold for a dip. Annie had given up walking by this point so we drove into town and found a café for lunch - great food but unfortunately Perth prices! We also found a hard ware store for more sealant to fix the shower and a lolly shop where the kids were allowed to spend $2 each - it took forever again to choose! To walk off the sugar we walked around Griffiths Island, which had some lovely little beaches and some great rock pools to explore. The kids had a play in the park for a while and then we headed home. Back at the van I decided to clean the inside of the car, which was horrific - there was an entire beach in the back including shells and seaweed. The poor hand held vacuum cleaner needed recharging several times and broke about 5 minutes before I'd finished! Nick got the kids pizza for dinner but they didn't eat very much so we skipped our dinner and had their leftovers. Hot showers and bed for the kids as they were exhausted - especially Annie, while Nick and I spent the evening planning our next couple of stops. Next weekend is a long weekend for Victoria and we may have trouble finding somewhere quiet to stay.

Grandma Is Port Fairy somewhere you could live? Photo's look very inviting. Good news about work offer. Remains very hot here. You would all hate it. It has gone on too long even for us. Just back from Curtis Bay. Good swim and rest after a day of gardening in the heat. Love to you all. Miss you all. Love your blog. Mum, Peta and Grandma xx
