Day 31 Bierzo to Vega de Valcarce. 17-18.5 km. we did not take the high road. Good temperature and got away before 8:00 so went a bit further than we thought we would.

Last night we had dinner with Julio and Lisette at Don Nachos. Glad to hear SA Marie got her money ok. She told me she felt like a fledgling and it was time to fly the nest. Buen Camino. Big meal and really tasty. Hugh liked them as I hoped he would. Talked Cuban politics Obama care and other things. Came back for a nightcap to San Nicholas where we were staying and sat in the courtyard. They staying on for a rest day but I hope we see them again. Big hugs all round anyway. That's Camino.

Today was much cooler. Now 3:15 and 24. Very pleasant walk and easy gradient but mostly on highway behind barrier.

Really nice walking with Hugh. Had lunch complete with wine and snooze down by the river. Love the rivers in Spain. They are clean and clear and with many trout or something similar don't see much fishing. No didymo or giardia. What did we do wrong and can we stop.

At albergue by 2:30. All good.
