Well 21 km today including over the Alto de Perdon at 800 metres. My confidence grows (sounds like a pilgrim riding for a fall).
The high point had the famous metal structures you see in the cover photo. The country side is very green. Walked alongside fields of barley, wheat and oats. It is incredibly beautiful. Towns that from a distanced still look as they would have five hundred years ago. As you get closer you notice the sky dishes and newer housing.
I was fascinated by the little yellow green snails that were on the path this morning. They live on low growing gorse bushes. It is really tough for them dicing with pilgrim feet and crossing dry sharp limestone. People apparently get annoyed with the click clack of walking sticks and wonder why people don't use rubber tips. Mine have worn through already.
Feeling good. Am on a top bunk. Reminds me of Social Climbers Hugh. I took a cramp before my shower hope I don't fall out in the night.
The smells of cooking are wonderful. More tomorrow.

Hugh Thank goodness I remembered to tell Roger Hall how much we all enjoyed Social Climbers. The sculptures look amazing. Northern motorway closed with snow this morning. Enjoy the heat!
Kate Just remembered to check your blog on my phone as I sit here with David who is keeping me company for the week. Seems you are into the swing of pilgrim life ... Hope your blister heals .. We being blasted by polar storms!!! Xxx
kiwi07 Hey guys I knew about the polar blast as Dad likes to keep me up to date with the weather. Sitting in the sun drinking cheap but good wine. It's really hard.
Rosalie Goldsworthy How awesome! I need to step up and find the quick way to get to this blog. I have every confidence that you did not fall out of the bunk.
