Day15 Hornillos to Castrojeriz. 21 kms. Very pleasant walk today with a gentle climb to Sambol where I had coffee and croissant for breakfast and then mostly downhill. The toe socks and sandals are great for my feet. It my knees appreciate more support than they offer. It will become a balance. Was a bit out of sorts with my pack today for the first time. Everything I needed was at the bottom or not where I expected it. Will sort that out.
I left at 7:15 this morning and was in the albergue by 1:15. Overcast today wore t shirt and long sleeve t for most of the walk.
The grain or some of it has already been harvested as you can see from the pictures.
Trying to sleep as did not get much sleep last night as woman beside me snored loudly through my earplugs. Also had some time in loo with a tummy upset. All good today except my neighbour in this albergue is snoring. Why must he lie on his back. You can see I have a way to go on the tolerance front.
Finally managed to buy a pair of merino socks. They are supposed to be liners but I think they will work well.
When I walk I get bubbles of happiness where I find myself smiling or singing out loud. Not a runners high more a walkers medium.

Alice Hi Mum. Love it that you are rocking the socks and sandals! I think siestas could be a good idea to miss the worst of the heat? Maybe we could try some in sympathy with you
Diane Talanoa hola :-) I walked into a private hut in Trotters Gorge late last night with some friends to have a wee b-day celebration n the wops (sort of) - the point being that we walked in the dark in a probably minus 10 frost - sparkling white and frozen streams - oh for some hot sunshine lol! Doing great RP - sounds like you are in the zone!
kiwi07 What a great way to celebrate your birthday. Yep I am going to embrace siestas. Can you believe snorkers operate in the afternoon tsk tsk
