Today is Easter and it is strange not being around family today but luckily I have a wonderful family to spend the day with. As with all special days and holidays I have trouble sleeping and so today was no different and I was up at the crack of dawn. I decided to go for an early morning walk and to my suprise many people were out and about. At around 1pm we headed to Heli's mothers house and met the rest of the family. Like always they made me feel very welcome and the lunch was started with some very nice red wine. For entree we had seafood empanadas, shrimp, calamari, mussels, fish and various other sautéed vegetables. The food was perfect and the atmosphere was great, the main meal came out which was stuffed calamari and wow this was certainly the highlight with an incredible soft and flavourful meat and inside a flour, cheese and herb mix. We had a little break before dessert came out which was a delicious ricotta and tin fruit cake type thing and then to follow up on this out came the Easter eggs. Basically all eggs and chocolates are placed in the middle of the table and then are broken up to share among everyone. I don't know where the extra room came from but I found some and went to town on the various milk, dark abd white chocolates and all the bits and pieces of candy. After all the food I felt terrible but reminded myself it is only once a year we get to do this. After thanking everyone and saying my goodbyes I went for a walk before heading back to Heli's. we had a really nice lastnight watching movies and eating leftovers from lunch. We also had the leftover chocolate from lunch which I know I shouldn't have but I indulged in again and ended up eating each and every last bit - showing the extent of my sweet tooth addiction.
