After a little bit of a sleep-in I did my exercises, made some lunch and worked out with Merlin and Carola a plan for tonight and going to see Bomba la Tiempo. In the afternoon I walked over to Jess's house were Nerlin and Carola are staying and where I will stay a night or two from tomorrow on. I dropped of a few things at Jess's, got a tour of the apartment and then it was time for us to walk into the city and to Konex bar were La Bomba del Tiempo was being held. The event happens every Monday night and involves a 15 man picussion group playing various types of drums, instruments and a little singing. We arrived early and brought our tickets, met up with some of Merlin's friends and then went to a cafe for some empanadas and beer. The weather changed and it got really cold all of a sudden and unfortunately the show was in an outdoor arena so it was going to be a very cold night. The group started around 8pm and wow from the first moment the drumming and energy in the arena was alive, people started stomping, clapping and moving their bodies to the beat. It got colder and colder so I did my best to jump around and warm up whilst being completely mesmerized by the thundering drums and all the other instruments bringing music to our ears. We danced all night and watched in amazement as all the members in the band showed off their incredible talents; they had a couple of guys come up and sing, a guy on a trumpet join in for a few songs and some other strange instruments brought up and added to the group. After 3 hours it was the last song and people got really crazy running around in circles, jumping up and down and completely lost in the music - it was quite a site but I was glad I wasn't in the middle of it. After it finished we tried to catch a bus but as there was around a 1000 other people trying to do the same we decided to walk. The walk wasn't so far and as there was 3 of us it was quite safe, when I arrived back to Sonia's she was still up so we had dinner together and chatted a while.
