Kalbarri was a lovely seaside town, it had lots of walking tracks, lots of places to go fishing. Jim caught a couple of nice tailor here and we enjoyed a feed for tea. The next night the wind came up on the beaches so the fishing was not good at all, we were lucky to have a good first day I think. The winds mostly seemed to come at night and the weather was quite warm through the day.
We drove to the Kalbarri National Park. We saw our second snake for the trip, our first one was on the east coast and it was asleep, but this one certainly was in a hurry, not sure what sort it was but glad that I was in the car. We saw a lot of wildflowers around Kalbarri which was nice as we were at the end of the season so I think we were lucky.
Just out of town there were some nice coastal drives, the views were lovely.
On our last day at Kalbarri we ran into Janice and John, a couple that we met at Eighty Mile Beach and had seen again in Exmouth, they arrived at our caravan park the night before, it was great to catch up with them again and find out where they had been since we had seen them, no doubt we will probably catch up again in our travels.
Kalbarri is a town that would be lovely to visit again one day. One can only imagine how busy it would be in the holiday season.
