This morning we left Port Hedland and made our way to Karijini National Park. It took us about 4 hrs and it was so hot, I decided that I wouldn't use the air con in the car so that when we arrived I would find it easier to cope with the heat. The winds on the way were so hot but I braved it, Ha ha ha who do I think I am. When we finally arrived at Karijini National Park we drove to Dales Camp Ground. No, power which we expected but boy it was so hot. We went for a walk at about 2.30pm to Dales Gorge, Fortescue Falls and the Fern Pool. I dont know what the temp was but it was bad, when we arrived at the pools Jim enjoyed a swim then we had to go back up the many steps which we had gone down, the heat of the day caught up with me.
We met a Lee and Wade from Golden Beach who are on a trip for three months, they have a camper trailer, I couldn't do it in this heat, but they have done some interesting 4WD road trips. We are heading the same direction so hopefully we will run into them again. I recognised Lee's face and couldn't remember where from, she had Daniel & Ryan for swimming lessons when they were at primary school.
