On the 3rd Nov we flew out of Darwin at 1.15am and arrived in Brisbane at 5.25am so we had an early start to our day, after finally picking up the hire car at about 8.30am we headed to Ginas and she cooked a lovely breakfast for us which went down very well. We stopped at Currumbin and picked Leeanne up, then off to Byron we went. Arriving at 2.30 this was our 3rd timezone for the day so it was a bit tricky to decide if it was lunch time, tea time or if we were even hungry. We went to the Bradley house and it was great to catch up with everyone, having left 4 months earlier we hadn't realised how much we had missed them all.
When we went though Byron Bay on our way up the coast it was raining and all we managed to do was walk to the lighthouse.
Sunday was another beautiful day and we realised what a lovely town we had missed on our way up the coast in our haste to get across to Darwin before the wet season, but we both said that we will certainly go back to Byron Bay at some stage. Buses picked the wedding guests up at 2.15 from the Surf Club and took us to Gurragawee, a lovely homestead in the Hinterlands. The weather, the venue, the ceremony, the food, the music and the company was amazing and of course Matt & Teree had a day that I am sure they will always remember.
Monday 5th we left Byron at 1.30pm, we made our way back to Brisbane stopping to drop Leeanne off at Currumbin, we had lunch at Currumbin Beach it was lovely. Arriving back in Brisbane we picked Ryan & Bianca up near the airport and we were able to spend a few hours at the airport with them, they had been in Noosa for the weekend. We left Brisbane at 8.40pm and arrived back in Darwin at 12.15am. What a whirlwind of a weekend but we wouldn't have missed it for anything.
