We arrived at Hazelmere near Perth, settled into Banksia Caravan Park and went to check out the shops, there were a few shopping centres nearby and we weren't far from the Perth Domestic Airport. We thought that we would stay here for a few days so we could see a few things to the nth of Perth as Tania lives south.
We went out for tea at Kelmscott Sizzler with Val (who we stayed with in Darwin), her son James and her sister Jill and her family, it was great to catch up with them all. James was moving back to Darwin so Val flew down to Perth to accompany him on the roadtrip home. They had quite a drive ahead of them.
The Swan Valley District was a lovely drive, there were many wineries, a nougat factory and also a chocolate factory (Jim was in Heaven)it was lovely chocolate.
We went to Duncraig which was a lovely suburb of Perth to see some family friends (Cliff & Lucy & their son Robert) we had a lovely afternoon with them and ended up staying there for tea, Robert has the most amazing marine aquarium, I could have sat there for hours just watching the fish. It was lovely to catch up with them all after a very long time.
We went on a city sightseeing bus tour around Perth, it was double decker bus and it started at Kings Park and took us to a lot of great sights around Perth & district. It was so good to sit back, relax and not have to worry about parking the car or trying to read street directions. It was a very hot day but it was very enjoyable.
