Today our plans for our continued travelling took a big step forward as we managed to purchase ourselves a second hand Mitsubishi Pajero four wheel drive that will see us around the rest of the country.
Newly named Fergal, it is a seven seater so much bigger than Brucey but without the added advantage of a roof rack, it will be interesting to see how things fit into it when we move on again. It is very strange driving along and being so high up and it makes the Falcon seem like a go-cart in comparison, but it does also comes complete with a big roo bar, which will come in handy should we have anymore close encounters with our bouncy friends!
We have put down a deposit and now just have a few days to wait for it to be delivered to the campsite complete with six months registration that will last us for the rest of our trip. It is a nice feeling finally having a car registered in our name!
As if there are forces at work that we know nothing about, Toyah and Stuart's old Falcon, Betty, has also arrived back at the same caravan park that it frequented with us over a year and a half ago. Not only that, but her new owners have come all the way from Perth and are in practically the exact same camp spot that we all stayed on all that time ago!!
All we have to think about now is the small matter of selling the Ford Falcon that has been our (sometimes not so trusty) guide for the past sixteen months before we leave Brisbane in two and a half weeks.
