In just over half an hour we will be heading back to the farm once more, to begin our third and final stint as harvest workers before we can finally say goodbye for the last time.
Once back in Brisbane we had a day of nothingness on Thursday before heading to the Convention Centre yesterday for the International Motor Show. There were loads of different sports cars including Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and Porsche's, as well as Jen's favourite - the Lotus Elise, which were great to look at but the best part was looking around all the jeeps and four-wheel drive utes. We could actually get inside the jeeps rather than just looking at them from behind the barriers and it was good fun climbing in and playing with all the extras. There was all the usual array of DVD players inside and huge alloys outside and one of the Toyotas even had a built in cool box between the two front seats for food and drinks!
At one end of the show there was an area for motorbikes, which included several Harley Davidson's as well as the MotoGP racing bikes, but by far the best stand in this section was one that built a new bike from scratch each week. As the show moved around the country they would build a bike to a theme that represented each state and for the Queensland show they were building a croc bike, complete with claws on the foot rests and a crocodile's face on the front with the light in its mouth! They even had their own 'promotion girl' to entice people to the stand, but she must have been having an off day as she had a look that would curdle milk!!
We are now all packed up and ready to head off once more, and all that's left is a quick stop off at the local shopping centre to get ourselves a bar fridge to sit in the corner of our tent. Once we can prolong the inevitable no longer, it's back to the farm to connect the power and then spend tomorrow getting the big tent sorted out, before we start harvesting the tomatoes at 5:30am on Monday morning!!
