Over the past few days we have taken Lynn and Leslie to some of the sights nearby so they can explore the area we live in and see just why we like it a much as we do.
Our first destination was just over the bridge into the city where we guided them through the shops and to the bars along the river on Eagle Street where they got reacquainted with ice cold beers - the only way to fight jetlag.
They have also been exploring around South Bank so they can see how much has changed since they were last here with us almost eighteen months ago now that all the restaurants and bars and shops have been completed. We also took them to the lookout at Kangaroo Point cliffs, but we had forgotten just how much we have acclimatised since first landing on these shores and after almost killing the pair of them we decided to stick to flatter areas for a while.
We even met up with David Richardson, one of Leslie's distant cousins who lives in one of the surrounding suburbs. We drove over to his place for dinner earlier this evening and it's safe to say our mode of transport brought a wry smile from his face as we rocked up in Bruce. It was a good night though and we have been recommended a nice place to stay when we go down to the Gold Coast in a few days.
Now that Lynn and Leslie have been here a few days and are over their jetlag and the temperature change (well, kind of anyway) we are starting our touring with them to visit more of the Queensland coast that we missed last time they were over.
