We are currently recovering from last nights escapades as Brisbane said a sad farewell to Miss Woods.
We met her at Irish Murphy's (her choice) where things were already well underway with some of her friends from the hostel before heading into a small park over the road next to the casino for a free concert. There had been a few bands playing for the last hour or so and the headliners, Youth Group, were about to take to the stage so after a stop at the bar we headed on in. The music was good but everyone had come for one song that has been huge over here or the last few months "Forever Young" and when they began to play it, the place went crazy.
At the end of the concert we headed into the casino: a building of bizarre contrasts. The building itself is a beautiful 19th century sandstone building which used to be the treasury building and is adorned with pillars on the outside, but when you step inside it is all neon colours and bright lights galore.
We headed down to the roulette tables, but were luckily distracted by the Daiquiri's on special offer. We don't think the barman had worked that hard in months with a queue of thirteen odd people demanding a variety of coloured drinks.
Our next stop was the dance floor of the Victory Hotel before we all left for various destinations. While we went in search of food, Lynsey and a few others went looking for a 'titty bar' to while away the small ours of the morning. Having just spoken to her we have been informed that their search was cut short when Lynsey decided she would be just as happy with a Hungry Jacks (Burger King).
We have little planned for the rest of the month other than the purchase of a bbq for our balcony. The quintessential Australian accessory!
