Today we revisited one of our favourite places from the last time Lynn and Leslie were out, as we headed to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary for the second time.
This time around it was decided that a cruise along the river to the sanctuary would be much nicer than a bus ride through the city suburbs (really didn't take long to decide on that one) and after picking out our new favourite houses along the river and spotting several bats chilling out in the trees we arrived on the banks of the sanctuary a round mid-morning.
As with our first trip to the sanctuary, the day soon disappeared from us as we wondered around the various displays and enclosures, feeding the kangaroos that hopped around in the park, trying to get a decent photo of the Cassowary through the fencing, trying and failing to spot the wombats in the dark and playing 'spot the koala' in the trees and before long it was time to leave and head back to the city again.
We have a couple of days relaxing around Brisbane coming up before we head over to Moreton Island on Monday to show Lynn and Leslie some of the delights on offer.
