Hello all, Roger here. We walked about 28 km today from Valenca to just outside Redondela, our first stop in Spain. You can see the route on the photo from our John Brierley guide. JB is the guide guru for the Portuguese Camino - rumours abound he's either just in front of us or just behind us updating his book. Most of the walk has been in light rain, how we laughed and sang and skipped along. In between times I thought I really must have some deep thoughts on this Camino, but given that Freud reckoned that men think about sex every 6 seconds and that I think about food quite a lot, there just isn't much room left....... And most of that is taken up by thinking why I am not thinking of anything in particular. Except for maybe playing more golf, doing less work, drinking less, and inexplicably, what Camino adventure we should have next year. There have been two special moments today. The first was leaving Portugal and crossing into Spain by the bridge over the river MInho and the second was the taxi ride for the last 5 km into Redondela....I know, but it's only cheating a tiny bit and I doubt if St James even noticed.
