So here we are in Finisterre as we British who are used to hearing the shipping forecast know it, or Fistera as the Galician call it. The real end of the Camino but we haven't burnt our boots here. It was a10 mile walk to get to the town and a couple of kms along the beach. Typical British weather with just about everything including a massive downpour . Thea final 2 kms to reach the lighthouse where Roger and I threw our message in a bottle into the sea and realised it was all over. The walk, that is, not us. No more Camino Shuffle - that very funny moment when you watch pilgrims who have been say down for a while get up and try to walk again. Their muscles are so seized up they move like hobbled Japanese women. No more saying Buen Camino to everyone and getting a smile in response. No more eating a hearty three course meal with a bottle of wine for 8 Euros and being so hungry you actually enjoy it. Many thanks to Phil and Rosie, Jane and Alice for coming to join us for this last few days. You have been heros and great company. . And strange to think that Jane's feet might end up in the new feature film to be made about the wonders of the Camino. Yet another story to add to the many of the last few weeks. And thanks to those who have followed the blog and sent their comments. The Camino will be here for a long , long time.....why no try it ?
