Soongies' Great Adventure
We had a cooked breakfast at the B & B and outside the window we could see the heavy Oxford traffic so we decided not to rush to leave otherwise we would be in the car for ages! We left at about 9:30 - it only took about 1 hour to get to Maidenhead. There we were warmly welcomed by Linda and John (Linda is Kate's dad's cousin). Fiona came in for a cuppa and a chat. We then had to say a very sad farewell to Fiona as she had to head back on the 4 hour car journey home. We had a yummy lunch at the house and then Becky (their daughter, Kate's second cousin once removed) arrived. We all went to Windsor - we walked down Eton high street to Eton College (where many a British prime minister graduated from) and saw the fancy Eton uniforms on the students going home. We tried to get an audience with Her Majesty at Windsor Castle but she didn't seem to be in. Since we didn't get an invitation for afternoon tea, we had some tasters at the fudge factory, and had some tasters at T2. It was really lovely. We then came home and had a delicious dinner of Chicken Marengo which Linda, John and Becky prepared. And to finish off the night, we watched a show about Iceland (hosted by Richard Ayoade) to get us prepared for that leg of our trip!
