Off this morning heading south to Esperance. We were impressed by the small towns, stopped at Salmon Gums for morning coffee and read all about the early settlers, how they took up and cleared 1,000 acre blocks and then lots of them were wiped out by drought, tough times. Went for a walk this morning in Karlkurla Bushland Park, about 3kms was pretty good, Rose was able to learn the names of some of the trees. We then headed off aiming to go down to Esperence via Coolgardie however we found Coolgardie that interesting we spent most of the day here. Drove in to Kalgoorlie after a short look around the old Ora Banda Inn this morning. Camped in the bush alongside a creek about 50kms west of Leonora tonight. It's been a big day, started with a bit of shopping then fuelled up ready to head into the northern gold fields.
