We've spent the last couple of days checking things out around Broome.
The historical museum was very good a great display of the way it was. I found it interesting that they claimed Broome has the most cyclones of any area in the world.
Spent some time in the port area, an afternoon on the beach that they launch their boats from, time on the famous Cable Beach. Also checked out the pearl shops and history around the Chinatown area. We've been surprised how interesting it has been and how much time we've spent looking around.
We are booked on the Willie Creek pearl farm tour in the morning so thought we would head up the peninsula this afternoon.
We passed a couple of camps of protesters attempting to stop Woodside Petroleum setting up a huge LNG plant at James Price Point so we thought we better come through and have a look for ourselves. We are camped tonight on our own on the cliff face right on the actual point, it is a most spectacular spot. It's to be the second largest LNG plant in the world and they pointed out it's LNG not LPG. They claimed LNG just goes to China to add to their pollution. Not sure, we have to have commerce but this is a pretty special part of our earth.
It's a really rough sandy track getting here it will be about an hour back for our tour in the morning.
Did I mention our grand daughter Maddy was student of the week last week.
