Went back to the Ski Park and spent Thurs, Fri and Saturday nights there, they charged us $30 for the three nights. Checked out around Rockingham area had a really good night watching the jet boats Saturday night. You drive in and park and can see the whole course from your car, it's kind of down in an arena. The course is about 1.3km long and they go around 19 corners, the best times were just under 50 seconds.
Sunday morning we crossed the city and went to the Grace Chapel Teen Challenge church. A really good service, a young lady gave a great message on the power of encouragement, Christianity may never have been what it is if Barnabas hadn't encouraged Saul/Paul.
Discovered a problem with the van today, whenever I've filled both tanks we've had a bit of a diesel smell. So I got under and found a small leak where the diesel heater offtake comes out of the tank so I tightened it up and caused a major leak, quite a bit of diesel spilling out. I managed to get it down to just seeping using some filler stuff from Repco. I'm waiting for the level in the tank to go down enough to dry out before using some more sealer.
In the evening we went to Margaret Courts church, very different, at this point in time I think I might be a different religion to her.
Stayed in a shopping centre car park Sunday night, had a good look around Kings Park Monday then went down to Fremantle and stayed in a car park on the beach.
Tuesday went to the Freo Gaol and checked out the water front, fish and chips were great. Watched people getting all their luggage on a cruise ship, interesting and an exciting atmosphere.
Then we headed east of the city to the swan valley and stayed in a caravan park, really expensive $31 no power.
Had a great tour of the old gaol/ museum at Gildford this morning then did the attractions around the valley. After visiting the information centre we had lunch at a winery, then went to a coffee tasting place that was quite good then the Margaret River Chocolate factory they have a big range really well presented, this was clearly the busiest place in the valley. Then on to a cheese and wine tasting, then honey tasting and I had an ice-cream at an ice-cream outlet, was pretty ordinary. Then to Mongo Nougat and Chocolate tasting. Very nice and interesting as they had a glass window through to the factory.
Tonight we are parked on the flood plain near Guildford, wouldn't have attempted to get where we are without 4wd.
