Friday morning we made our way down a track and came out at Middle Springs Falls, very beautiful. It was quite a deep creek crossing to continue on our way to the main road.
Went through to Ivanhoe Crossing on the Ord, there was no way anyone could get across here so we headed back and around.
Stopped and had a walk at Valentine Springs a beautiful pool on a running creek. Met a couple in a caravan camped here, learnt of their travels, interesting, they told how they were dudded by Andrew Forrest, probably Australias richest man when they went to work on a station of his.
Then back into Kununurra to Hidden Valley Caravan Park.
Saturday we had a look around, showed some Italian youths how to cast their fishing line, they were very grateful. Met a couple at the boat ramp who had just spent 3 days in a canoe traveling the 70kms or so down the river from Lake Argyle camping in swags on the way. They said they very much enjoyed although they looked pretty burnt.
We spent quite a bit of time at a writers festival that was happening at the library, pretty interesting listening to the authors as they spoke of how they went about things.
Later in the afternoon we went out to the Rodeo, it was pretty good. Sat with a very well spoken family who's son rode a bull, of course they were very excited. Unfortunately he only lasted about a second. Bought buffalo burgers for dinner, very ordinary. It was a good night.
Camped on the river near the ski club, a pretty good free night.
First thing this morning we went and booked into Hidden Valley Caravan Park so we could shower before church.
Went to Kings Church this morning, a COC church, they were pretty far out. It was okay, they invited us to a Baptism of a young aboriginal lady out at Valentine Springs at 12.30. We went and had a good time with a sausage sizzle for lunch. Some how we were asked to give Polly a very old Aboriginal lady a lift back into town, that was interesting.
A quiet afternoon in the park, the weather is getting pretty hot.
Were going to go to an AOG church this evening but their advertised service wasn't on as they were preparing to head off to an aboriginal convention in Halls Creek. They had a mob from Tennant Creek camped in their yard
Back to bed.
