I got up early and went around to the rocks to try my hand at fishing. Threw the lure a few times and got one on, he took a big leap out of the water and spat the lure. That was as near as I got to success, but it was enough to keep my interest.
We decided we would head a bit further east, went in the Alexander Point track, it was a long pretty tough going 4wd track, amazing views when you got there. There was quite a substantial shed that was open and had rough beds, a fire place and sink, very much a boys fishing camp. We went through to the beach after much umming and erring about wether we could get through the track, I was finally convinced I could do it, it was certainly worthwhile, an amazing spot with absolutely no one there. The coast was too rough to swim or do any fishing though so we decided to go back to the road and went on to the entrance to Cape Arid National Park but didn't go in because of Ellie.
Decided we would head back to Duke of Orleans bay and park on the beach at Nares Beach. There are signs about the place that there is no camping outside of caravan parks but our intention was to do more fishing than camping anyway.
Pulled up at a great spot, not far from where we wanted to fish and just above high tide. We had no idea what the tide was doing, fortunately a couple came along with a dinghy and told us it was on it's way in probably for the next 3 hours or so. That would be about 8pm. As the time went by we started to get concerned, are we really above where the tide will come to? We watched and again ummed and erred wether we should shift or not, finally decided due to the moon and all things scientific we would stay and should be okay, we did and we were. A really nice night.
