After an awesomely refreshing shower me and demolishing a cheese and ham toasty myself and Sarah decided to do the Paihia to Ohua coastal walk, it was a really decent walk and literally started on the coast, the first part of the walk was all the way along the beach which was awesome as the sun was shining! We then went up into the cliffs and walked along for a couple hours and arrive at 'Peggy's' view point which did have some incredible views, the weather was looking 50/50 around lunch time so we had a quick bite to eat and then turned around and headed back the way we came, we eventually made it back to Paihia and the weather held off, I think we walked for about 4 hour so was a pretty decent one! On the way back to the hostel we saw a sign for a pub quiz that started at 8pm so we thought we'd attend that! We chilled at the hostel a while and after dinner we went next door to the quiz and joined up with 3 Swedish girls and an English guy, we thought we were doing ok in the quiz for the first few rounds but they didn't reveal the scores until the beginning of the last round, somehow, shockingly we were 2nd with one round to go and the announcer told us it was super close! The final round was music and we had a pretty diverse board so did pretty well again, after final scores were totalled he read out results in reverse order and miraculously we ended up wining the quiz! We obviously had a mental over the top celebration as we had indeed won the $100 bar tab, we got a round of Pipi bombs in and a pint each, then two of girls retired to bed so the 4 of us got another few drinks each and then we stuck around and shared stories until Pipis closed and everyone retired to bed, bloody good end to an awesome day!
