Woke up fairly early today as Andy and I were determined to make it to Mexico for the day, we packed a day bag and took a short walk to the trolly station where we got a ride to downtown, we then got a classic American breakfast, hot dog with chilli and then hopped on another trolly which took us all the way to the Mexican border, it's literally a straight walk into Mexico and after a couple minutes we were at the taxi rank, we hopped in a taxi and asked to go to Revolution Street, Tijuana, we were there fairly quick and after a bit of sight seeing we sat down at a restaurant with a really friendly Mexican host with perfect English, we got a bucket of beers and started ordering various Mexicans food off the menu, it was all amazing and the beer was top notch too! When we were done here we took a walk through town and found a cheap taxi our host told us about which took us to a beach, unfortunately the beach was pretty bad and most of the shops in the area appeared closed, we only stayed there a little while before getting another ride to a market that got suggested to us a couple days earlier, after the sketchiest taxi ride ever where he had to stop and ask for directions twice and kept picking up random girls and hitting on them we eventually made it to the market, it was really interesting delving into locals market, we were pretty much the only non Mexican people there, we sat down for a lunch break and ordered some more random
Mexican food, all amazing again and then took a stroll around the market and the surrounding area, Andy bought a couple of things as he was heading home the following day, one of which was a kick ass poncho I was quite jealous of... After some more sight seeing as being beckoned into every shop on the street we found a bar that was doing $1 corona so jumped in there and up to there balcony, after graciously turning down a tattoo offer we sank a couple of beers and then headed down the street to a pool room where Andy proceeded to hand me my ass in about 80% of the games, not enjoyable... We decided to head back to revolution street as it was getting late and we felt safest in the area, we ventured back to our first stop and took our old table, got a couple more beers in and had another small Mexican bite to eat, literally full to bursting by this point but it was all so good! It was around 8:30 when we decided to head back to the border, thankfully when we got there the queue was super short and it only took us 20 mins to get through instead of the usual 2-3 hours! It was still nerve wrecking though, especially as a guy just in front of us tried to get through and got arrested, cuffs slapped on him and everything! We got through scotch free and hopped straight back on the trolly, Molly gave us a shout to say she finished work early and could get us from the station but as told her we didn't mind the walk, eventually we made it back to Molly's and got our gear packed up, Molly arrived home shortly after ad we decided to have another chilled night as we were all moving about tomorrow, Molly to a festival and unfortunately Andy was going home :( which meant back to hostel life for me! Andy was leaving pretty early so we all said our goodbyes before bed and then put out heads down for the night.
