Up early again as had an early night again, the sun wasn't up over the ridge yet so it was still freezing! We milled about a little but until the sun came up and then got dressed for our Mt. Cook - Hooker Valley hike! It was an awesome walk and had about 3/4 swing bridges which were great fun to be big kids on! The walk to the ice lake was about 1h20mins ad the lake was incredible, looked like a mini scene from titanic. We had lunch here and then after chilling out and taking in the breath taking views we ventured back to Albert! We hopped in and drove to Lake Tekapo which took a couple of hours, we went to the info straight away and met the nicest old boy who told us where to go and where to stay, we checked out the church of the good shepherd which is this quant little church with a window and a view over the lake, next to it was a sheep dog statue which was also pretty cool! When we had taken in a few sights we attempted to get to the campsite but ended up going the wrong way and ending up at a random farm.. They were kind enough to direct us to the campsite however, when we parked up we met a kiwi guy called Lochlin and he was travelling with a German hitchhiker called Peter, we got on with then straight away and after dinner and chatting played a few card games including monopoly deal! After dark we settled in for the night as we were going to do the observatory walk tomorrow so wanted to be rested!
