Was up mildly early today (reluctantly as I wanted more sleep) and after our first fairly speedy morning routine we were on the road again heading further north, our next destination was the pancake rocks which wasn't too far away so we hit the highway and after a little while driving turned up at pancake rocks late morning, we had a look around the area first and saw that high tide was at 12:50 so decided to pop back to Albert and make a packed lunch, when this was done we headed to the pancake rock and blow hole walk, it wasn't very long but the rocks and surrounding area looked amazing and I got some decent snaps! We waited for the blow holes to start working their magic but that didn't happen, either the winds weren't strong enough or the tides weren't high enough which was a tad annoying, after lunch we headed down the road to the cavern and checked that out, it was pretty awesome and a bit creepy! We then ventured back to Albert and hopped in to continue our journey up the coast, we drove a couple of hours and stopped off at a little campsite to use the toilets and I practiced some miserable handstands, the sun came out for a while and I basked in its glory before once again hopping into Albert and going onwards, we decided to stay at a campsite near Nelson Lake so headed that direction and after some more driving ended up at the campsite where we met a nice old Scottish bloke who told us to set up near the lake as there was less sand flies there, so we headed down to the lake and set up table and chairs on the jetty and poured on some bug spray (hate sand flies) we all the caught up on diaries/blogs before getting our gear together to make dinner, we set up our gear on the jetty and proceeded to get cooking! After cooking we each had another quick catch up on our blogs and the decided to head into the camper as there was about a million sand flies so we made a dash for the van in the darkness and after sealing all doors we turned on the lights and proceeded to kill every sand fly that managed to get into the car which was actually pretty fun! When the dead was done we played some cards before wanting to get some sleep after the whole sandfly ordeal! I even brushed my teeth in the car with a mug and some water, desperate times, desperate measures!
