Woke up early in Rotorua and after a quick brekkie and shower we headed off to hot water beach, it was a good 4 hour drive so we just chatted and listened to tunes as usual to pass the time, we stopped off in the town before the beach to top up supplies and then kept on trucking to hot water beach, we arrived around lunch so made a few sarnies and then went down to the beach, it was prime time so was pretty packed! We hung about a bit until the tide went down and everyone started digging holes, I hopped in a hole, it wasn't that warm but a minute later a few lads from the kiwi experience jumped in and knocked the wall through so the hot water poured through and made it as warm as a bath! It was so nice, the water that was coming in was so hot it could actually burn you if you weren't careful so we had to let it in bit by bit, you literally couldn't stand in the main hot part as you would lose your skin! The geothermal heat was ridiculous! After a quick dip we shot off to cathedral cove which was a 40 minute one way walk, it was an awesome little beach with an incredible cave, took a few pics here then headed back to Albert to make the drive to Auckland, this was another couple hour drive and it was getting pretty dark! We got to Auckland fairly late and there aren't any camp grounds with it being a city and all! We checked into nomads for a night and parked up Albert up the road, we were all pretty exhausted and couldn't be bothered to cook so got ourselves a dominos which went down a treat, headed back to nomads and made my way to the apartment (girls were in a separate one) I met a few people staying there and got chatting to them a little while before making my way to bed, half way through the night two absolute tools of Germans came in drunk as hell and woke half the room up, top guys.. I managed to get back to sleep bar the interruption, morons.
