Three rides out today. Started off pretty quiet as some fences needed repairing. I went to find my boots and hat to help and missed the truck on the way out - so I decided to take Maddie a standardbred for a ride. Then some guests and Netty decided to join me. We checked out a fence where we might potentially push the Mickey bulls through today?? The fences here won't stop a wild bull that's for sure, however we straightened some floodgates etc and then got a radio call that the fencers were back at the station ready for breakfast - so we returned to base.
Breakfast wasn't on the agenda it was a coffee break and then we headed out to play with the bulls in the yards. I climbed back on my faithful friend Pluto. Four of us worked the bulls for a little bit and then it was decided that we would take them to a paddock just shy of the north paddock. We ever so quietly got them out of the yards and held them. Brom was at the front. Alida flanking one side and I the other. We then had Andrew bringing up the rear with the guests hanging right back. I was maybe 5m away from one bull - who I wasn't that trusting of and it took another purposeful step in my direction, I stood face to face with one of them, turned out it was a stare down competition, glad my horse had a stronger nerve than me! - I don't think my heart could pound much harder lol. Thankfully it turned away again. I asked Brom after the encounter what I could have done if the bull charged for me - his reply, hang on and get out of the way!
