Today we travelled around the end of the peninsula to Cape Range National Park to take a trip in a boat into Yardie creek gorge. Here we were able to see Black footed rock wallabies, an Osprey, a small sea turtle, rays and different types of fish. It was an enjoyable and informative hour.
We then headed out of the park. On our way out we saw a black dingo. We had been informed that DNA testing had shown the dingo to be 90% pure. We were really lucky to sit it.
We then went to Vlamingh head lighthouse lookout. Here we could see out over the Ningaloo Reef. Further out we could see 3 gas platforms. While we were there we also saw a number of whales frolicing about. To far out to be able to say what type of whales.
We could also see how flat the other side of the peninsula is. You look out over the VFL towers on the Exmouth side of the lighthouse. The towers are supposedly the second tallest man-made structures in the southern hemisphere.
We ended our day out with takeaway before heading back to our room for the night.
