The hilight of the day has got to have been the Pinnacles.
We left a cloudy miserable Perth and began our trek north. What amazing freeways Perth has. SA government you need to come look at this cities infastructure. Did not see one pot hole in the road.
We then hit the Indian ocean freeway. It was one lane most of the way but a beautiful road and the weather improved. We headed to just outside Crevants to the Nanbung national park to see the Pinnacles. Well it was totally beyond what i had expected. We were amazed at how far these limestone pillars went.
We left the Pinnacles and headed to the turning to Crevants. We then turned onto the worst corrugated dirt road I have travelled on in a long time. At the end of this dirt road was Thetis Lake. A beautiful small lake with its name to fame being that it has stolmaliates. They are young in comparison to those near monkey mia so I've been told. They look like rocks but are actually a living organism.
We left there and headed up the coast to dongara for the night. Not to much to see on the way up but road and more road. And occassionally amazing coastline.
We got to Dongara which is a nice little town south of Geraldton. Our home for the night was just off the beach so we got to listen to the waves all night. It was lovely little place and I got to have veggies for dinner. Made my day.
