On the 22nd we headed for Kalgoorlie through leinster and leonora. This would be again a day of many different contrast. We were to travel through some ghost towns as well as the regional mining towns. On the 21st we headed for Sandstone. So we stayed on the great northern highway until we reached mount magnet before turning east onto the mount magnet sandstone road. We left Capricornia on the 20th August and headed for Meekatharra. Another small mining town on the Great Northern Highway. It was an interesting little place. Another decent drive today. Saw either road trains or grey nomads. Lots of changing landscape. More and more beautiful wildflowers. Also got to stop for road works. It was interesting to watch the men at work as we travelled past them. Also gave Carey the chance to educate me about road work machinery.
