Well been a few days since I updated this so will do trip to Tom Price then blogs for the days since then.
We left Exmouth early knowing we had a ongest drive yet to get to Tom Price. Turned out not to be a bad day.
Luckily the landscape changed regularly. Half hour or so out of Exmouth the landscape looked to me like ribs as you had small long hill ranges every so often. Then it went flat again.
Just after we turned onto highway one we had our first stop at what is a bus stop in the middle of nowhere. A bus seemingly stops there at 2am. We then headed to Nanutarra which is the only roadhouse for kilometres and fueled up for the rest of our trip.
Not long after Nanutarra we turned inland off highway 1 to head for Tom Price. We now had another 217 kilometres to travel before we would hit Tom Price. The road was good and the ladscape interesting. So many mountains and what appeared to be flood plains. The mountains or hills had red ore rocks sticking out of them all over. The ant hills are even redder out here. The wild flowers were amazing as well, yellow, white, red, purple, pink and blue.
48 kilometres out of Tom Price we took the dirt road which saved us 0ver 80 kilometres. This road was really good.
We got to Tom Price in good time and found our accomodation for 2 nights which was easy as the town is quite small and everything is together. Was funny to see the corella"s as they were red like everything else including our clothes and car.
