Slept really well and woke up around 7am as Nick went off for a walk. The kids slept on until 8am so I read in bed until Nick came back - what a treat! We had breakfast and spent the morning over at the camp kitchen doing schoolwork. They have a great camp kitchen here with a large room full of tables, a separate kitchen and toilets so no one had any excuse to leave the building! After lunch we headed off into Geelong to explore. We stopped off at a camping store and bought the boys a sleeping bag each from Poppy Jon and Grandma for their birthday as it's starting to get cold at night now and their doona got thrown out during the first gastro episode in WA! In Geelong we parked at the waterfront and walked to Eastern Beach, checking out all the painted bollards on the way. Everyone had a great time trying to spot them all and the kids had their photo taken with all the ones we saw - apparently there are 111 in total! At Eastern Beach we stopped for an ice cream and walked around a fantastic pool enclosure built into the bay. It has diving boards, multiple pontoons and a lap pool. There is also a huge outdoor wading pool for small children. We walked back to the car and played in a playground near by before heading home. We'd only managed half the painted bollard walk so may come back again to explore a little bit more - and eat! The waterfront is full of restaurants and the smells were amazing! We called in and bought dinner on the way home and picked up a birthday cake. Back at the caravan park, the family from Busselton that we first met in Adelaide appeared and the kids all ran off to play giving us plenty of time to wrap presents. They came in briefly for dinner and then were dragged back for bed and went out like lights. We weren't too far behind!
