Some girls and I went to mass in the Granada Cathedral on Sunday. Going to mass in a different country is very interesting and I'm glad that I have been getting the chance to go to church every once in a while when I am not traveling. It is definitely a different experience for two main reasons: 1) The language barrier-the prayers, gospel, etc are completely differnet vocabulary terms than what I am used to so they are hard to follow. However, I can still tell which prayer is being said at the time so I can say it in my head, but some of the readings go right over my head while others I understand perfectly. 2) The community feel is not there because I have not always known these people/I am not originally from Granada, other tourists who don't belong to the specific church are also there, I don't get the chance to go every Sunday and therefore it is hard to meet people.
I really like going to church here, especially because the insides of the churches/cathedrals are so awesome to look at! I will have a couple more Sunday mornings free before the end of the semester when I will go and try out different churches also.
