Today, we had Friday classes since Midterms are next week, and therefore had to review a little bit. However, my professors were nice enough to let us have some field trips instead of sitting in class on a beautiful day!
Field Trip #1: For my music of Spain class, we got to go to a museam that was the house of Falla, a famour play writer from Granada. It was somewhat interesting but the park that we went to afterward was more fun. It was so beautiful and green which just made the lovely sunny day even better. We saw peacocks and ducks and simply walked around the area for a while. Of course it had cute fountains and a little stream running through it.
Field Trip #2: For my oral production and reading class, we got to go and visit the Sacromonte area of Granada. This happens to be the area/neighborhood where the gypsies live. It also happens to be that my professor is really good friends with one gypsie couple so we got to go to their house (aka cave..literally a cave in the side of the mountain that they had dug out and painted and decorated) to experience the gypsie culture for a day. IT WAS AWESOME. The wife gave us a tour of the cave which was actually quite spacious and nice for a cave. We then sat in their front yard or terrace? I'm not quite sure what they call it.. Where we all had a beer and pet their dogs and cats. All around us is where they grew their vegetable plants..and I'm assuming pot also.. then the best part came. My professor's friend starting smoking a joint, which my professor took a hit off of, and then some of my classmates proceeded to buy some weed from the friend. I mean, why not, right?! haha. So anyway, it was definitely the most casual/interesting field trip I have ever been on.
