Another trip my study abroad group took was we walked to the edge of Granada, up the hill, and took a tour of the Alhambra. The Alhambra is an old palace/village which was originally made by Muslims until Christians (Isabel and Ferdanand) took it over. Gypsies lived there when the Christians abandoned Alambra until it became restored and is now on of the most popular tourist attractions in all of Europe. Its nickname is "The Tenth Wonder of the World." It is most famous for its beautiful gardens (which we unfortunately did not get to see because they bloom between April and May). However, the scenery was spectacular and I was once again snapping pictures nonstop. The history was really interesting to me too. We learned all about each of the three palaces that used to be occupied, the design of the buildings, and even how the town's water system worked in the olden days. The Alhambra is definitely something that I will go and visit again before I leave Spain!
