Thursday 8th October - Hansel and Gretel Gatehouses.
We left the Gaudi house and wandered our way down the avenue on which were dozens of hawkers with their wares all laid out on canvas sheets trying to make a buck. Same old stuff and same old prices.
As we were making our way down we noticed several hawkers quickly pack up their stuff and walk into the trees along the side of the road. We thought that this was a bit funny as we didn't think that they stopped for lunch and turning around here was a police car creeping down the road and the hawkers were obviously not meant to be there.
Very good entertainment though and we heard one chap say to the customers that he was selling paintings to "I'll be back".
We rounded the corner at the entrance and walked down the stairs to look at the Hansel and Gretel gatehouses and on the other side of this huge wrought iron gate a group of American ladies said to us "How do you get out there"?
We explained that we were outside the park and they were on the inside, the paying side and they thought that we had the better deal.
