Sunday 4th October - Gracia Apartment
When we got off the train we had to pay 50c to use the toilets and I rang Patricia who was going to check us into the apartment. She said that she would meet us outside and we got a taxi.
We arrived and unloaded and stood on the pavement and waited for Patricia to arrive which she did driving a Volvo so checking people into apartments can't be too bad a job?
The street Torrent de Olla 111, is one way and quite narrow and we have a fruit shop across the road and a grocery shop on the corner of the next block down.
We went in through the main door and then Patricia mentioned the 75 stairs up to the apartment and there is no lift!!!
I have to add the little bit in the book in the apartment that caused us some mild amusement:
Your flat is the 3r 2a, that is the third floor, that is 75 steps before being at home.
Stairs are good for health and highly recommended to keep fit and in good health. Enjoy the natural light coming from the roof and the finishing on the stair, wrought iron, hand made, Barcelona style.
We are pushing our neighbours to achieve our dream to get an elevator before we are too old, but it is not easy.
Being the third/forth floor is an advantage in order to avoid to being disturbed by traffic and people noises. The other great advantage of being on a third/forth floor is the sightseeing the Sagrada Familia and having access to the terrace easily (just one floor upstairs).
