Thursday 8th October - Casa-Museu Gaudi.

The rest of the park is free and is where Gaudi turned his hand to landscape gardening, so we wandered up the pathway towards the house that Gaudi had built for himself. This was to be a show home so that all of the other wealthy people could see the standard of what their money was going to buy.
The project was a commercial flop and was abandoned in 1914 but not before Gaudi n his inimitable style created a Disney type park with steps, a plaza, two very weird gatehouses and 13 kms of roads and pathways.

The city of Barcelona purchased the estate in 1922 for the use as a public park and it became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004.
