Sunday 4th October - Perpignan to Barcelona by Train
We got up and went down to the lobby of the hotel and had a coffee and croissant to save going out into the street to get the same!
We packed up and had to get everything into our two cases and the carryon case and the backpack because we were travelling by train and had no car to just load things into the boot. This was achieved easily but would not have happened if Jannie had not sent five parcels home since arriving in Europe??
We went down to the lobby and paid our account and walked out the door and 50m along the building we entered the railway station.
This has to be the most convenient stop to take the car back, stay 2 nights in the hotel and catch the train to Spain that we have ever had.
The train arrived on time and we got on board. Jan kicked the people sitting in our seats out whilst I was stowing the luggage. There's never enough room for all of the bags and although the overhead racks were wide I didn't fancy trying to put our cases up there so we had them in three different places in the car. The train took off right on time and before long was hurtling along at 200kms. There really wasn't much to see along the way and 1 hour 20 minutes after leaving Perpignan we got off the train in Barcelona.
