Sunday 4th October - Walk Down to Placa du Sol for Lunch
The apartment wasn't ready and the cleaner had about 2 hours work to finish and have it ready for us. I have to say that the people who left this morning left the place in a mess.
So realistically speaking we just dropped our bags after Patricia gave us a couple of maps and told us everything that we had to do whilst we are in Barcelona.
We went down to the corner and turned into Placa du Sol. The open spaces in Europe are great and lots of people spend all of their time just sitting and having a coffee or a beer and chewing the fat.
All of the tables at the three places on one side of the square were full so we went and got a table at one of the cafes on the other side of the square.
We ordered our Estrella beers and three tapas, Nachos, chicken wings and Spanish omelette. It all took a while for it to come and the beer finally arrived and then the nachos. We just chatted and listened to the ambient noise all around us of people chatting, dogs barking, kids yelling and a celloist playing for his supper and Jan thought that one of the tunes was a version of the Ummpa Lumpa tune!!
Lunch was great and we should have only had two plates but we had no idea of how big they were going to be. Either that or we should have had another two people with us??
