This morning we got up to a beautiful sunny day with very mild temperature. As it is my birthday today, we went out for coffee and breakfast to a little cafe called Angies Cafe, really nice and cozy, serving great coffee and a good feed! Now, I love all kinds of parrots and in her research on Kalbarri, Kellie had found a place called Rainbow Jungle, a massive Parrot breeding facility set up for tourists to liesurely wander through. Rainbow Jungle is the best bird aviary I've ever seen, full of beautiful Australian and overseas species of Parrots. It's a beautiful place that has been thoughtfully designed to make it an awesome experience walking around looking and in some cases touching their beautiful birds! They have a couple of real characters amongst their birds, none more so than Baz, a hand-raised 1year old Long-Billed Corella who loved to be scratched under his wings almost turning himself on his back to make the most of the attention! He could already talk really well too!
After spending a couple of hours here we then went for a drive along the coast to look out over the ocean and back over to Kalbarri township. It really is a great little town, with really nice feel about it, we really like it here!
